Hochschule für den öffentlichen Dienst in Bayern – Every year about 400 students start their training (for the third qualification level of policing) in Bavaria. They study at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Service in Bavaria’s Department of Policing, whereas the internships are carried out at police departments in the entire state of Bavaria. While primarily being responsible for the education and training of Bavaria’s police officers, the Department of Policing has also participated in a whole range of EU and national research projects since 2012. The Department of Policing’s involvement in research projects has – depending on the exact project – covered a variety of different activities with a primary focus on counter-radicalization, cybersecurity and training.
